Until January 31, 2024

The Novotel Collective features four local mid-career artists – Mark Gleberzon, Erica Mills, Jane Pike & Jeff Turner and Kate Taylor – based in Toronto and Hamilton, Ontario. This talented group of artists are well known in the local art scene and have either exhibited or sold their work in art galleries and participated in numerous indoor fairs and outdoor shows throughout the country and internationally including the United States, France and Japan.

Mark Gleberzon
Mark Jeremy Gleberzon is a multi-disciplanary artist working in acrylic painting, pop-culture inspired photography & mixed-media assemblage. An Honours and scholarship graduate from the Ontario College of Art (and Design University) in Toronto, Mark’s been offering his artwork for over thirty years throughout Canada, the United States and Japan. He owned and managed his own art gallery, MJG Gallery, from 2011 to 2015; and co-managed Collective 131, with several other artists, from 2021-2023.

Erica Mills
Erica Mills is a painter/illustrator who lives in Toronto, ON with her wonderful husband and three busy sons. Erica has primarily been a greeting card designer and illustrator over the last 20 years, but has recently focused her abundant energy on her true love-creating vibrant and whimsical abstract paintings. She loves her people, good food and drink, is passionate about travel, indie folk music, spreading kindness, and having fun. Erica hopes that her colourful paintings bring feelings of happiness and radiate joy-it’s often what she feels while painting.

J&J Photo
The art-child of Jane Pike and Jeff Turner, J&J Photo have combined their respective backgrounds in graphic design and photography to create bold colour statements featuring people and everyday objects. Subjects are given eye-popping transformations, floating in a sea of intense colour. Shadows and light are replaced with contrasting tones, while reflective elements are given new depth. Jane and Jeff are based in Hamilton, enjoying ownership of their own gallery and printing studio.

Kate Taylor
“My work is about joy. Capturing the joy you feel when you are present in nature. Humanity is connected to nature; our place within it and the energy we derive from this relationship. As the world around us becomes more and more fraught with stress and uncertainty, there is an even deeper need to connect with the earth and consciously integrate joy in our lives. My work explores the unique forms and colours of nature and how they are an integral part of our lives – bringing contentment and grounding.”
